EVERYONE NEEDS A LITTLE INSPIRATION

The weather has turned cold and winter is knocking on our doors.
When the weather turns cold,
I love to ...read!
I love to grab a pile of books,
a cuppa tea,
and a favorite quilt
and just sit...and read.

Today I took advantage of some quiet/alone time
and I grabbed these:

Before I knew it I was lost in a world of inspiration...
and color!

These are my favorites:

(Hi Aneela! I still want that shirt that you made!)

(BTW-Natalia has another version of her orange slice cover quilt on her blog...just in case you want to drool!)

So each of these ladies have inspired me to try something new...
something that I didn't think I could do!
What I think that I am really drawn to (at the moment)
is all of the hand projects which are perfect for this time of the year.

Soon I left the books behind
in search of all of the supplies I will need for these hand projects.

Until Next Time... Happy Quilting

FABRIC CRUSH {MODA CANDY}

Lately I am in love with squares..any size square!

I don't think that I have "met" a square that I haven't fallen in love with.
Right now I am in love with these 2 1/2" squares
AKA..Moda Candy

I love how they all mix together to create the perfect scrappy presentation!

These are just some of the delicious fabric lines that Moda will be releasing next year.
I have a few favorites in the bunch....2wenty Thr3e, Comma, Noteworthy,
and
GLAMPING!

I think that this cute little group would make the perfect scrappy
Christmas stocking

or

table runner.

Now I just have to get up the nerve to open up the bundles!
They look so cute all together that I hate to disturb all of their harmony!

Until Next Time...Happy Quilting

THIS LITTLE LADY WENT TO MARKET {HOUSTON QUILT MARKET RECAP}

WOW!

This little lady went to Quilt Market

Oh my goodness...I can't believe that a week has pasted by since I returned
home from Quilt Market!

Let's see...
I returned home from Quilt Market last Monday
and my Little Person became VERY sick.
So Little Person stayed home from school
for a couple of days.

Then,,,,
there was Halloween!

Then...
other activities

Then..
I can't remember what else
but the rest of the week flew by.

So here I am happily sharing all of my special moments from
Quilt Market.

This time I didn't bring my "official" camera
so all of these photos were taken with
my camera phone.
(Sorry for the blurry pictures)

The best part of Quilt Market is seeing friends...old friends and new friends...
Katrina, and my sweet Sister In Law.

My most memorable momets were spent celebrating with the other
Moda Bake Shop chefs!

These ladies are awesome and I enjoyed  meeting and celebrating with all of them!
L to R- (front row) April, Natalia, Aneela, Sherri, and Jane
(back row) Angela, me, Mary, and Melissa

Fabric Crush {Sew Stitchy Fabric Panel}

Welcome Sweet Celebration Blog Hoppers!
You can enter my GIVEAWAY here

Yesterday when I wrote my blog post about
I forgot to share with you the CUTEST part of the fabric line!

Of course I loved all of the prints,
but tucked inside the fat quarter bundle
was this little gem:

a fabric panel with little stitcheries on it!

You see...I was intrigued!

Then,
I opened it:

and squealed at what I saw.

The panel is actually larger than I thought it would be!
It measures approximately 42" X 24".

Each stitchery on the panel is so cute that I am having a hard time choosing a favorite.

I love the flowers that border the cute blue bird.

Here are more favorites:

I think that I am going to square up the stitchery panel,
add some borders,
and practice my free motion quilting!

Until Next Time ...Happy Quilting

FABRIC CRUSH {SEW STITCHY BY ANEELA HOEY}

Today I have a new fabric crush!

Right now I am love with

Sew Stitchy by Aneela Hoey for Moda Fabrics!

When I saw this fabric line

I was drawn to the

turquoise blue and gray colors!

I couldn't resist opening up this bundle.

When I opened it up, I was surprised by all of the cute prints in the collection.

I pulled out a few of my favorites and I started planning my next project.

Those cute little pins with the colorful pinheads are so adorable!

However, you know that the RED is calling my name.

So, what fabric line do you have a crush on?

Until Next Time...Happy Quilting

SWEET CELEBRATIONS BLOG HOP [MY STOP AND GIVEAWAY}

****Giveaway is now closed!****
Hello to all of the Sweet fans that are here to
celebrate the release of the
Moda Bake Shop's
newest book!

This is truly a great book filled with projects to celebrate
every occassion.
(My projects celebrate the 4th of July and birthdays but you will have to purchase the book in order to see them.)

While we are on the subject of celebrating,
I thought that I would share my favorite cake recipe.
It is SUPER easy and fun to make!

You can also download my recipe here.

Our favorite Moda Bake Shop

expert, Oda May,

stopped by earlier to get the "skinny" (ha ha)

on me.

Here is what Oda May asked me:

Oda May: What is your favorite holiday memory?

Me: I love the Fourth of July! I live in a small town and every Fourth of July our city puts on a big celebration. During the day, there is usually a parade. Once the sun sets, everyone meets at the park/lake for a concert put on my the Symphony. Before the fireworks and concert begin, there is a flyover done by the pilots from the Navy Base. A few years ago my husband was the lead pilot in the flyover! This was my favorite Fourth of July memory!

Oda May: Do you celebrate with cupcakes, cake pops, or just plain old cake?

Me: We (I mean me) usually celebrate with cake!  My preference would be chocolate! The bigger the piece the better!

Oda May: Speaking of cake, do you prefer a corner piece or a center piece when eating cake? Or do you not like to discriminate?

Me: I like corner pieces because they have more frosting!

Oda May: If you could patchwork bomb a spot in your town, where would you choose and why?

Me: I would cover our City Hally with patchwork! It is located in the center of downtown and was originally built in 1915. The building recently underwent renovations to preserve its original architecture.

In my eyes, those grand steps would look beautiful covered in bright and bold patchwork!

Here is what it would look like with a little bit of
Simply Color by V and Co.
and
Odds And Ends by Cosmo Cricket:

Oda May: If you could have a quilt shop spree, which items would you snag off the shelf?

Me:That is an easy question! I would grab one jelly roll, layer cake, and charm pack of each fabric line just to be on the safe side!
